The head of US National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbart resigns because of her husband. She stated this in the social network X, according to the magazine Der Spiegel.
"She was one of the most controversial members of Donald Trump's government team. Now Tulsi Gabbard is resigning from the post of head of intelligence. She explains this to her husband's illness," the magazine writes.
The resignation will take effect on June 30. In her address to Trump, she thanked him for his trust and the opportunity to lead the US National Intelligence Service over the past year and a half. As the reason for her resignation, she referred to the fact that her husband, actor Abraham Williams, was recently diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer.
"I am deeply grateful for the trust that President Trump has placed in me and for the opportunity to lead (National Intelligence) for the last year and a half. Unfortunately, I have to submit my resignation from June 30, 2026. My husband Abraham was recently diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer," Gabbard wrote.
The publication recalls that Gabbard supervised 18 US intelligence agencies and regularly informed Trump about extremely confidential intelligence.
As EADaily reported, the head of US National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, stopped arranging Donald Trump. Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov wrote about this in his telegram channel.
The politician cited information according to which Gabbard, who has always opposed US wars abroad, for which she was appointed by Trump to this post, was asked to resign before the November congressional elections.
