Demonstrations demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom Pedro Sanchez took place in the center of Madrid on May 23. This is reported by local media.
It is reported that the organizer of the demonstration was the movement "Spanish Civil Society" (SCE), which expressed dissatisfaction with the direction in which the Spanish government is leading the country. The march began in one of Madrid's squares. Many of those gathered brought Spanish flags with them. The action was supported by representatives of opposition political forces, in particular, the conservative People's Party and the far-right Vox. The audience chanted slogans calling for the resignation of the prime minister.
Last year, thousands of Madrid residents took to the streets demanding new elections after the arrest of former Transport Minister Jose Luis Abalos. Against the background of the events, opposition leader Alberto Nunez Feijoo called on citizens to speak out against "corrupt officials and all those who support them," and also directly demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.
