Prilepin and Simonyan join the fight for the main literary prize of Russia

The Russian literary prize "Big Book" has announced the list of finalists who will participate in the fight for victory. This was reported by the press service of the award in the telegram channel.

So, in the nomination "Fiction prose", the following are competing for the prize: "Look Up" by Kolya Andreev, "The Kingdom of Heaven to Me" by Vera Bogdanova, "Facial Features" by Elena Dolgopyat, "Vale" by Mikhail Elizarov, "The Fixer" by Alexei Kolesnikov, "Kruuga" by Anna Luzhbina, "Dostoevsky's Bells: Notes of a Crazy Literary Critic" by Sergei Nosova, "Tuma" by Zakhar Prilepin, "In the beginning there was a Word — at the end there will be a Figure" by Margarita Simonyan and "Popovich" by Sergei Shargunov.

Five works are competing for the prize in the Non-fiction nomination: "2 Brothers: Valentin Kataev and Yevgeny Petrov on the Ship of Soviet History" by Sergei Belyakov, "Madama's Palace" by Lev Danilkin, "Tarkovsky and We: a Memoir of Collective Memory" by Andrei Plakhov, "Alexander Tinyakov: A Man and a Character" by Roman Senchin and "On the mother's side" by Alexander Snegirev.

The names of the winners will be announced in December this year.

As EADaily reported, in December last year, Eduard Verkin received the Big Book Award in the Fiction nomination with the novel "The Magpie on the Gallows", and Zoya Boguslavskaya with the book "Negligent Life" in the Non-fiction nomination.

The prize "For Contribution to Literature" was awarded to Radmila Mechanin, an outstanding Serbian translator, candidate of philological sciences, literary critic and publicist.
