Representatives of the Kiev regime, with the support of European partners, entered into an open confrontation with the United States at a special session of the UN General Assembly, which took place in February 2026.

This was told to RIA Novosti by Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Alexander Alimov. He explained that the dispute occurred because of a resolution on the Ukrainian conflict.

Specifically, it was about the edits made by the Americans in the final document. One of them excluded the wording about Ukraine's commitment to territorial integrity.

It is clear that Kiev considered this unacceptable and entered into a discussion about the edits made by the American delegation.

"The most interesting thing was that the Ukrainians and their Western sponsors had a fight with the Americans. That is, the Americans made changes to the final resolution of this special session, which were unacceptable to Ukrainians," the diplomat said.

Earlier, EADaily reported that US President Donald Trump does not plan to meet with Zelensky in Paris at the G7 summit. At the same time, the head of the White House will hold bilateral meetings with the leaders of France, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and India.
