The Kremlin singled out a "change of roles" in the Ukrainian drama being played out by the West

The Group of Seven (G7) summit held in Evian, France, is notable for the fact that there was some tactical role reversal among Western countries in the Ukrainian drama they were playing out. This was stated by Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, speaking at the Primakov Readings.

"For some time, the Europeans had to - and very willingly — take the initiative in the "campaign" for Russia's strategic defeat, Ushakov recalled Europe's position after Donald Trump's victory in the US elections. — At the aforementioned meeting of the "seven", they — the Europeans — did everything so that the West would once again act in a consolidated manner for the continuation of the war to the last Ukrainian, so that Anchorage would be forgotten and interrupted by the taste of Evian — though not mineral water."

As the Kremlin representative pointed out, "the Evian summit is perhaps curious because there was some role reversal among Westerners in the Ukrainian drama they are playing out."

"The shift change is, of course, of a tactical nature," Ushakov said.
"Let us recall that when the special military operation was just beginning, the administration of [then US President Joe] Biden acted as a backer of political, military assistance to Kiev. It was under President Biden that Washington set the degree of Russophobia. Under Trump, the Americans, I must say, built a line with certain nuances, made mediation efforts, which contributed, in particular, to the negotiation rounds in Istanbul and in Geneva. And for some time, the Europeans had, and very willingly, to take the initiative in the campaign for the "strategic defeat" of Russia," the Kremlin spokesman said, quoted by TASS.
