It seems strange that Ankara wants to resell the S-400, said Russian Senator Vladimir Dzhabarov. Most likely, he said, this is someone trying to use the situation to encourage Turkey to sell complexes that have proven their excellent performance.
"Therefore, there is no need to make hasty conclusions based only on information from the Turkish media," the senator stressed.
On the eve of the publication Hurriyet reported that Turkey resold the Russian S-400 complexes to the UAE or Qatar. In exchange for this, according to the publication, the United States promised to lift sanctions on Ankara and return it to the F-35 fighter program.
Jabarov recalled that when Russia supplied Turkey with the S-400, the "end user" rule was prescribed in the contract.
This means that in order to transfer the complexes to a third country later, Turkey must obtain the explicit consent of Russia. That is, it will not be possible to formally conduct such a deal on the sly — it will be a violation of the agreements," the senator stressed.
In general, Jabarov added, Turkey itself initiated the acquisition of Russian equipment, and therefore it is difficult to imagine that it would agree to resell them.
"Naturally, the transfer of the S-400 will not take place without our notification, so soon we will know for sure whether this is a rumor or true," he concluded.
