A video has spread on the Web in which the first lady of France Brigitte Macron slapped her husband— President Emmanuel Macron. The leader of the Get Up, France party, Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, in connection with Russophobia broadcast from the Elysee Palace, is ironic: "What if Brigitte was a Russian spy?"
A source close to Macron called the slap scene "fun" and "a conspiracy of spouses."
"It was the moment when the president and his wife were able to relieve tension and have fun for the last time before the start of their trip. It was a conspiracy," the source told BFM TV correspondent Leopold Odeber.
Earlier, the American agency Associated Press distributed a video of the arrival of the French president in Vietnam. In the footage, Macron is still inside the plane, at this moment his wife's hand appears, although she herself is not visible. BFM TV adds that the president, who was clearly not expecting this, looked surprised, but quickly turned to greet the greeters. The office of the French leader recognized the authenticity of the video.
After the incident, the couple went down the ramp. Macro held out his hand to his wife, but she ignored it and held on to the handrail.
