The governor of the Krasnodar Territory signed a decree banning electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles from driving across the Crimean Bridge. The owners still have the option of a ferry crossing or through new regions of Russia.
"From November 3, electric vehicles and hybrid cars will be banned from driving across the Crimean Bridge from the Krasnodar Territory. The corresponding changes (link) to the resolution were signed by Governor Veniamin Kondratiev," the administration of the Krasnodar Territory reports.
They noted that the movement of electric vehicles and hybrid cars will be banned from 00.00 on November 3 — at the entrance to the Crimean Bridge from the Taman Peninsula on the section of the federal highway A-290 Novorossiysk — Kerch — from the junction to the village of Taman to the Crimean Bridge.
The Krasnodar administration noted that earlier the passage of trucks was prohibited on the Crimean bridge.
"An alternative overland route from Taganrog (Rostov Region) to Dzhankoy (Republic of Crimea) is available for them, as well as electric vehicles and hybrid cars," the administration added.
Obviously, the ban is related to the safety of the bridge and traffic.
