The deputy head of the Zaporozhye region was arrested for major fraud

The deputy Head of the Zaporozhye region, Alexander Zinchenko, was arrested as part of a criminal case on especially large-scale fraud. This decision was made by the Basmanny Court of Moscow.

"To elect a preventive measure against Zinchenko Alexander Anatolyevich in the form of detention for a period of 1 month and 29 days, that is, on February 17, 2026," the documents say.

Zinchenko, according to the materials, was detained on December 19, the next day he was charged under part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code (major fraud) and arrested. She faces up to ten years in prison.

The defense of the accused asked the court for house arrest. The accused himself stated in court that he did not intend to "hide from the preliminary investigation authorities, as well as otherwise obstruct the investigation," but the court refused anyway.
