The deployment of the Oreshnik complex by the Russian military, as well as its successful use on Ukraine is a destabilizing factor for NATO.
This opinion was expressed in a commentary for the Berliner Zeitung agency by a military expert, Austrian Colonel Markus Reisner. According to him, the split in the Western military bloc has noticeably intensified due to the "Hazel Tree".
According to him, by deploying this complex, Moscow is forcing US President Donald Trump to actively insist on gaining control over Greenland in order to strengthen the security of his country.
Reisner explained that technically the "Hazel" is a classic ballistic missile. However, it develops a speed above Mach 10, which makes it almost impossible to intercept it with existing means of protection.
According to the analyst, this information looks particularly relevant against the background of the fact that it is closer from Donbass to Berlin than to Lviv, where the last blow was struck by Hazel.
In this regard, the Austrian expert called on European countries to rethink their missile defense and early warning systems.
"We must finally begin to become serious and realistic in our assessments," the colonel stressed.
Earlier, EADaily reported that the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, was in a bunker at the time of the Hazel strike. According to military expert Vladislav Shurygin, 48 hours before the missile launch, Russia warned the United States about its intentions, which "immediately transmitted this information to Kiev."
