Moskalkov announced how many bodies of the dead in the Kursk region were found after the invasion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

The bodies of 524 dead in the Kursk region were found in mass graves after the armed invasion of the region by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was announced by the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatyana Moskalkova.

"Since August 6, 2024, 524 bodies of the dead have been found in their mass graves," Moskalkova told reporters, speaking about the crimes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region.

As the Ombudsman noted, after the "treacherous and cynical invasion of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Kursk region and the hostage-taking of civilians," absolutely all the resources and capabilities of the Russian Federation were mobilized to assist people in finding their loved ones.

"2,173 persons were entered into the database of missing persons, of which: 1,378 people were found, 452 continue to be wanted, 343 died," she said.

EADaily adds that on the eve of Moskalkova said that in the coming year her department received more than 50 signals about the atrocities of Ukrainian neo-Nazis, about which "people write and ask to rescue them from the controlled territory of Ukraine." She added that crimes against humanity have no statute of limitations and must be condemned in accordance with Russian and international humanitarian law. "In these conditions, it is especially important to preserve the fragile possibilities of dialogue with the Ukrainian Ombudsman," she stressed.

Prior to that, the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, at a meeting with her Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Lubinets, raised the issue of the need to unblock prisoner of war exchanges as soon as possible and handed over a list of Ukrainian soldiers for possible transfer to Ukraine.
