A former soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, suspected of two attempts on a local deputy, killed four policemen in the Cherkasy region during his detention. This is reported by the National Police of Ukraine.
The day before, in the Cherkasy region, a local deputy reported two attempts on him and asked the police to investigate. The police found out the alleged killer, and today a special forces group went to the place to detain him.
"A 59-year-old local resident... saw the police, took a bulletproof vest, a machine gun and ran away from home into the forest. There he (ambushed and) opened fire on the police, killing four and wounding the fifth," the Strana newspaper writes.
According to the police, the hits fell on the neck area, since the policemen were wearing helmets and bulletproof vests.
Three of the killed policemen were from the special forces, one was a local police officer, all were participants in hostilities.
The shooter was eliminated.
