Russia supports the immediate release of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife from custody. This was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
"We are closely monitoring the situation around the so-called trial in the United States of the legitimately elected and legitimate President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, and his wife and advocate their immediate release from custody. Well, then we will comment on all other nuances in the course of receiving specific information," the diplomat said, quoted by TASS.
As EADaily reported, in early January, the United States conducted an operation in Venezuela, during which its president was kidnapped. This step caused a serious resonance in the international arena. However, Washington ignored all the criticism and demands of the world community to release Maduro.
