"We express our readiness to contribute to appropriate measures to ensure safe passage through the strait. We welcome the commitment of the countries involved in the preparatory planning," the statement said.

In addition, the leaders of the "six" welcomed the decision of the International Energy Agency to allow the coordinated release of strategic oil reserves.

"We will take other steps to stabilize energy markets, including cooperation with some producing countries to increase production volumes. We will also work to provide support to the most affected countries, including through the UN and international financial institutions," the signatories said.

They also criticized Iran for attacks on civilian vessels and energy infrastructure of the countries of the region, "including oil and gas facilities, as well as the actual closure of the Strait of Hormuz by Iranian forces."

They called on Tehran to "immediately stop its threats, the laying of mines, drone and missile attacks," as well as other attempts to block the strait for commercial shipping.
