A Greek fisherman discovered a Ukrainian military surface unmanned Magura V5 with a large amount of explosives in a cave near the island of Lefkada in the Ionian Sea. This was reported by the Greek TV channel Skai.

The fisherman said that he noticed a marine drone with a working engine in a cave near Cape Ducato in the sea area of Lefkada on May 7.

The TV channel noted that this operational drone is similar to those used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in their attacks in the Black Sea region. In addition to explosives, there were antennas and communication equipment on the unmanned boat. The fishermen who arrived at the cave managed to moor the drone and tow it to the port of Vasiliki, where it was taken over by the Greek Coast Guard.

On the morning of May 8, pyrotechnics of the Greek armed forces neutralized a total of three detonators on the drone, and also found a lot of explosives in it. The boat is being transported to Athens to the facility of the Greek Armed Forces for further analysis, the TV channel reported.

"The scenario of using a drone by drug traffickers has been refuted. Now the estimates converge to the fact that the drone could be used to attack a ship that loaded fuel in a Russian port," Skai said.

Greek Minister for the Protection of Citizens Michalis Chrysochoidis told Skai that "the armed forces that deal with such issues are studying the drone, and statements will be made."

"This is certainly serious, and the armed forces will give answers after their investigation," the minister stressed.
