A 27-year-old girl who made a hookah on the basis of a cake was convicted under part 1 of Article 148 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of the right to freedom of conscience and religion). This was reported by the press service of the Moscow Prosecutor's Office.
"It was established that on April 13, 2026, the person involved in the bar on Sretenka Street made a hookah based on a cake — a traditional attribute of the Easter festive table. At the same time, the convict recorded what was happening on her mobile phone and subsequently published these materials on the Internet, which offended the religious feelings of believers," the report says.
It is specified that she committed the crime during the probation period. The girl pleaded guilty, she was taken into custody in the courtroom. She was sentenced to 3 years and 25 days in a general regime colony.
She was previously convicted of a drug charge. Her suspended sentence was canceled.
The sentence has not entered into legal force.
Recall, the convict posted a video on social networks with the comment: "Hookah in the cake. Ordered?" The caption read: "Even Christ has risen from such a thing."
Later, when the video was widely distributed on social networks, telegram channels and the media, she apologized for the "rash act" and indicated that she had no purpose to offend anyone. At the same time, the Investigative Committee has already opened a criminal case.
