The Ukrainian Armed Forces hit power unit No. 6: The first attack on the main equipment of a nuclear power plant in history

A Ukrainian drone struck the engine room of power unit No. 6 of the Zaporozhye NPP. This is stated in the official telegram channel of the NPP.

It is noted that there are no casualties or critical damage.

"Today, as a result of an attack by an unmanned aerial vehicle, a hit into the wall of the engine room of power unit No. 6 of the Zaporozhye NPP was recorded. Fortunately, there were no casualties and critical damage, " the report says.

Any attack on the infrastructure of a nuclear power plant can lead to unpredictable consequences and create risks for the security of the region, the NPP stressed.

Now the station's specialists are conducting a survey of the scene, the situation is allegedly under full control.

According to the head of Rosatom, Alexei Likhachev, "the UAV hit the engine room of Unit No. 6 of the NPP is the first targeted attack on the main equipment of the NPP in world history." The UAV was controlled by a fiber optic cable, so it eliminates the possibility of an accidental hit.
