At a meeting of the Council of Ministers of France, the dates of the presidential elections of 2027 were agreed. It is reported by France 24 TV channel.

"The presidential elections in France will be held on April 18 and May 2, 2027. The dates were agreed on Wednesday morning after consultations with all political parties," the statement said.

Recall that about 20 politicians have already announced their intention to participate in the presidential elections, in particular, the former Prime Minister of France and the head of the presidential social liberal party "Renaissance" Gabriel Attal, as well as the chairman of the center-right party "Horizons" Edouard Philippe. The candidate of the right-wing nationalist party "National Union" will be announced on July 7 after the decision of the Court of Appeal in the case of the chairman of the faction "National Union" in the National Assembly Marine Le Pen. If the Court of Appeal upholds the decision to suspend her from participating in the elections due to embezzlement of funds in the European Parliament, the chairman of this party, Jordan Bardella, will become the presidential candidate. The current French President Emmanuel Macron will not be able to participate in the elections, as he has been in office for the second consecutive term.
