Residents of Moldovan villages on the border: Ukrainians periodically set us on fire

In the Odessa region of Ukraine, near the border with Moldova, a large fire occurred. As reported today, on August 14, the Ukrainian State Emergency Service, a reed caught fire near the lakes Tudorovo and Beloe.

At night, the glow was visible in different areas of Odessa, and residents of the Moldovan villages of Palanka and Tudora of the Stefan-Vodsky district are suffocating from the suffocating smoke.

Local residents said that the smoke is the result of a fire that arose after several citizens of Ukraine set fire to reeds. Because of the wind, ash and smoke reached the yards of Moldovans. Worried people are also afraid that the fire may spread to their villages.

"The third day is burning in the valley, the fire is already approaching the village. No reaction from anyone, no information, neither on television, nor in the press, anywhere. It's symbolic, isn't it? We are all afraid of God, the fire is approaching the church, and the reaction… Here, the village is close," says Anatoly Gryu, a resident of the village of Tudora.

Residents of nearby settlements are outraged by the situation. Some have suggested that the arson of the border strip was done specifically by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to prevent the evaders from illegally crossing into the adjacent territory.

"Ukrainians periodically set fire, the village suffocates and there is a danger of fires. Now everything is dry, drought, and we have such a "movie". Look what's being done! It's only in one place, but I'll show you more. I'll show you, this is Lake Tudory, it was given to the Ukrainians, the Tudor people can no longer fish," the man added.

In a telephone conversation, the director of the Environmental Protection Agency of Moldova, Dorin Povarzhuk, said that the agency learned about this from social networks. He assured that experts will take samples to check the air quality. The agency's management recognizes that the situation is dangerous.
