The judge removed stand-up comedian Artemy Ostanin, who is accused of insulting the feelings of believers and inciting hatred, from the Meshchansky courtroom, as he did not respond to the remarks. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

"Ostanin read out his petition, in which, among other things, he demanded that his detention be recognized as illegal, asked for compensation for each day of detention and to terminate the criminal case," the publication says.

The judge made several remarks to Ostanin, but he did not react. Then the judge removed him from the courtroom and announced a break in the meeting.

As EADaily reported, Ostanin participated in a show where he told a story about how a disabled person ran over him in the subway. He talked about how he was almost hit by a "stump wagon" in the subway, which was driven by a "skater without legs." The comedian advised the disabled person "not to drive so hard," and one of the women in the subway called him a "boor."

Patriotic public organizations, telegram channels and The media considered that we are talking about a fighter of a special military operation. Also, the performance of the comedian outraged the head of the Federal Project on Security and Anti-Corruption Vitaly Borodin, who called for a criminal case.

Ostanin himself explained that he was joking about a "beggar" in the subway who has been riding "without legs on a skateboard for 20 years."

"There is not a word about SMO in the joke and there is no talk about it even close, the rest is fiction of bloggers and, surprisingly, the federal media," the comedian explained.

On March 18 last year, Ostanin was detained while trying to cross the border of the Russian Federation. After that, the comedian was taken to Moscow, where, during interrogation, he apologized for his joke and stated that "he did not intend to offend anyone, hurt someone's feelings, threaten violence, or even call for hostility towards any social group."

On March 19, the Meshchansky Court of Moscow sent Ostanin under arrest. In June, he was entered into the register of terrorists and extremists of Rosfinmonitoring.

At the last court hearing in the comedian's case, the prosecutor requested a sentence of 5 years and 11 months of imprisonment in a general regime colony.

In addition, the prosecution asks that Ostanin be fined 300 thousand rubles and banned from administering websites for three years.
