The Iranian military attacked Israeli and US targets as a sign of revenge for the death of the commander of the Iranian Basij militia, Ghulamreza Soleimani, the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said.
Earlier, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it had killed the commander of the Basij volunteer forces, Gulyamreza Soleimani, in Tehran. Iran has confirmed his death.
"The 60th wave of Operation True Promise 4 was carried out as revenge for the blood of Gulyamreza Soleimani, which included attacks on US regional bases and occupied territories," the IRGC said in a statement quoted by the SNN television channel.
The Guard Corps noted that it had attacked the American bases of Al-Azraq in Jordan, Al-Udeid in Qatar, Al-Dhafra in the UAE, Ali as-Salem in Kuwait, as well as aircraft refueling centers in Israeli Ashdod, military industry facilities associated with the Israeli arms company Rafael. Missiles and attack drones were used to strike targets.
